We are absolutely thrilled to bring you some of the latest and most exciting updates regarding the Turing RK1 Compute Module. Our team has been working diligently, conducting rigorous testing and refining our design, to present the best possible product for our valued customers.
After a series of optimizations, we have finalized the Bill of Materials (BOM) for our module, which is a significant milestone on our journey. What’s more, we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our beta samples. If everything goes as planned, we anticipate the commencement of shipping by early fall 2023.
Design Refinements and Enhancements
We took several steps during the testing phase to ensure our product meets the high standards we set for ourselves. These include minor modifications to the layout and considerable enhancements to the signal integrity. Furthermore, to ensure maximum reliability, we replaced some components with superior alternatives.
Our commitment to quality is unwavering and we’re confident these changes will contribute to the delivery of an exceptional product.
Pricing and Memory Options
Our team is pleased to share updates regarding the pricing and memory options for the Turing RK1 Compute Module. The starting price for the RK1:
- 8GB RAM option is set at $130
- 16GB RAM option is set at $170
Moreover, we’ve upgraded the default eMMC memory to 32GB from the previously available 16GB for both options. This means you’ll get double the storage space without any extra cost!
However, at this time, we cannot offer a 32GB RAM configuration due to the current availability of the required RAM chips. These chips are currently only available as samples, resulting in high prices and limited availability. Rest assured, we are monitoring the situation closely and will update you as soon as they are ready for mass production.
Ubuntu Server Support
In further developments, we’re also working on an Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS distribution based on the Linux kernel 5.15. The long-term support version of this software will provide our users with reliable support until October 2026.
